Freedom Run Raises Over $3,400 for Cecil Families
The Arc NCR celebrated freedom for people with disabilities on September 13, 2014.

The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) held their first annual Freedom Run 5K and Family Fun Walk on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Perryville Community Park. The Freedom Run had 53 participants and raised over $3,400 to benefit Cecil County Family Support Services. The morning was a celebration of freedom for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate in community events, live in comfortable homes, and make meaningful life choices.
“Our outreach to Cecil County families is so important,” says Jamie Stoner, the Director of Community Outreach at The Arc NCR. “The Freedom Run was a huge success - we now have funds for our families’ emergency needs! I can’t wait for next year’s event.”
Walmart of Elkton and Walmart of North East were the Freedom Run’s title sponsors. The event was also sponsored by Terry Mulkins of Patterson-Schwartz; Get Fit Bootcamp of Harford County; La Quinta Inn & Suites of Elkton; Elegant Restoration, Inc.; The Columbia Bank; Food Lion of Perryville; BJ’s Wholesale Club; Delmarva Power and Jaylen’s Journey. Kona Ice NE Harford County came out to support the event and serve sweet treats.
