Perryville Little League Junior Softball Heads for State Tournament

The team won the District 5 championship.

After clinching the district title, Perryville Little League's Junior softball team is prepping for the state championship.

Perryville won the District 5 title after shutting out Elkton, 10-0, in a July 3 matchup in Chesapeake City, according to ExploreHarford.com.

Its opponents were "clearly outmatched," Cecil Scene reported, as both Elkton and Havre de Grace handed over victories via the "Mercy Rule," which takes effect when one team is 10 runs ahead.

Next, Perryville will travel to the outskirts of Hagerstown, where the state championship goes down at Sharpsburg Little League Complex, on July 20.
