Weather Decision From CCPS For Friday, March 1
Cecil County Public Schools updated an earlier decision for Friday.
CECIL COUNTY, MD — Public schools and school offices will be closed in Cecil County on Friday, March 1. Officials from Cecil County Public Schools made the announcement Friday morning, updating an earlier decision to delay opening.
In making the decision to close schools for both students and staff, Cecil County Public Schools cited inclement weather.
Cecil County is under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. on Friday. Up to 3 inches of snow could fall, the advisory states.

The snow emergency plan was in effect in Cecil County from 5 to 7:30 a.m., meaning people should not park on snow emergency routes.
"Please delay your travel plans if possible," Cecil County government officials advised.

Cecil County government employees are on liberal leave on Friday.
PREVIOUS DECISION (EXPIRED as of 6 a.m. Friday) — Classes will be delayed in Cecil County on Friday, March 1. Officials made the announcement Thursday night.
Cecil County is under a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow.
Due to inclement weather, Cecil County Public Schools will open on a two-hour delay:
- 11 a.m.–12:50 p.m. for the morning session
- 1:50–3:30 p.m. for the afternoon session
Prekindergarten and preschool will operate on the following modified schedule:
