Stoney River: A Prime Place To Eat

Do you have taste for steak? Let's face it, who doesn't every now and then.

The next time you're craving one, let me lead you to Stoney River Legendary Steaks in Towsontowne Center. It opened in the fall of 2009 and has been doing good business almost from day one. 

It's open seven days for lunch and dinner. They do not accept reservations, but if you call and leave your name, you'll be put on a priority list. This means no matter how crowded it is, your wait will only be 30 minutes. That's a big deal on a weekend night. And for five bucks they'll valet the car. Another big deal, especially when the mall is crowded.

The General Manager, Eric Leseur from Paris, described the dress code as 'nice casual.'  During the winter months, you might want to request seating next to the gas fireplace. But I understand those tables go quickly. You can dine in the bar and on the patio, but that's not suggested in February. Entrees run from $20 to $35. 

I'm told the signature menu item is the coffee-cured filet mignon. It's cured in a special blend of coffee, brown sugar and molasses with au gratin potatoes and sauteed green beans. ($26.99/$31.99).

One of the new items is the ahi tuna salad.
