Ninety-Two Year Old Dentist Honored for 63 Years of Service at Sinai Hospital

Melvin Bulmash, D.D.S., who is 92 years young, was honored for 63 years of distinguished service at Sinai Hospital.

When Melvin Bulmash, D.D.S., began his affiliation with Sinai Hospital of Baltimore as a dentist in 1951, Harry Truman was president, the average new house cost $9,000 and a gallon of gas was just 19 cents.

Dr. Bulmash, who is 92 years young and recently awarded emeritus status from Sinai, was honored for his decades of distinguished service at the Sinai Medical Staff Annual Business Meeting luncheon this month. He received a plaque of recognition, words of thanks and a standing ovation from his colleagues for his 63 years of treating patients and mentoring young doctors.

Bryan Keegan, D.M.D., chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery and dentistry, gave a heartfelt speech about Dr. Bulmash. Neil Meltzer, CEO of LifeBridge Health, and Amy Perry, president of Sinai Hospital and executive vice president of LifeBridge Health, also expressed their appreciation for Dr. Bulmash’s dedication and inspiration.

Also receiving special recognition at the luncheon were 22 doctors who have been at Sinai Hospital for 30 years.
