The school also climbed to No. 135 nationally, outpacing other well-known county schools like Churchill, Whitman, and Wootton in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. 
• Montgomery County leaders blast school district over $55 million artificial turf plan (fox5dc.com) — Poolesville residents could see their high school field converted to artificial turf as part of a $55 million MCPS plan that county leaders are sharply criticizing. Opponents, including the county executive and local parents, argue the money should fix indoor problems like aging HVAC systems, mold, and lead in water instead of costly turf installations.
