• Maryland utility seeks to join lawsuit over DC sewer collapse that spilled 240 million gallons (thecooldown.com) — A massive January sewer collapse just outside Cabin John spilled 240 million gallons of raw sewage into the Potomac River, only about two miles upstream from WSSC's Potomac Water Filtration Plant that supplies most local drinking water. WSSC now seeks to join a federal lawsuit over the failure, aiming to influence how repairs, accountability, and future costs for Montgomery and Prince George's customers are handled.
