2. From Bethesda Magazine: The debate over AI in Montgomery County schools (bethesdamagazine.com) — AI's rapid spread into Montgomery County classrooms is sparking new policies, teacher experiments, and strong opinions, while a Potomac student at Connelly School of the Holy Child champions AI as essential assistive tech for neurodivergent learners. From county guidelines to state law and PTA pushback, educators and families are wrestling with how AI can help without undermining real learning.
3. 50-year Montgomery County public servant Charles 'Chuck' Short, passes away. (mymcmedia.org) — Montgomery County is mourning longtime public servant Charles "Chuck" Short, whose decades of work reshaped county human services and supported vulnerable residents. Alongside his government roles, he served on the board of Potomac Community Resources and other nonprofits, leaving a legacy of inclusion and support that directly touched families across Potomac and surrounding communities.
4. Americans through to finals on Day 3 of Acro Junior Worlds, World Youth Competitions • USA Gymnastics (usagym.org) — Several young acrobatic gymnasts from Potomac and nearby Montgomery County are competing on the world stage in Italy, with one Potomac-based women's group advancing to the finals. Their Xtreme Acro teammates from Potomac and Rockville also turned in solid performances, helping represent Maryland in the Acro Junior Worlds and World Youth Competitions.
