POTOMAC, MD — A body was recovered along the Potomac River on Saturday morning, according to Montgomery County fire and rescue officials. The search was centered around Sandy Landing and Rocky Island in Great Falls.It appears the person fell from the Virginia side of Great Falls and landed on rocks near the water, according to Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. It is unclear how the individual fell.The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and U.S. Park Police are taking over the investigation.
