1. Waitlist opens for affordable units in forthcoming Spring Hill Metro apartment high-rises (ffxnow.com) — If you’re looking for affordable housing in Tysons, you can now apply for a waitlist spot in The Exchange at Spring Hill Station, the area’s first fully affordable apartment community. The project near Spring Hill Metro will offer income-restricted units, project-based vouchers, and a new community center, with all 516 apartments expected by 2027.

2. EXCLUSIVE: Spurred by Tysons casino fight, new advocacy group wants to put money behind local voices (ffxnow.com) — A new nonprofit, Communities First VA, has formed in response to the push for a Tysons-only casino, aiming to strengthen local control over big development decisions. Fairfax leaders and residents who opposed the casino say Richmond lawmakers are overreaching, and this group plans to fund lobbying so Tysons and nearby communities have more say in future land use and housing debates.

3. Celebrate Father's Day With These Events (washingtonfamily.com) — Tysons families can mark their calendars for a free Father’s Day field day at Shipgarten, featuring outdoor games, a magic show for kids, and food and drink samples for dads. The roundup also highlights other regional Father’s Day outings in Silver Spring and Bluemont if you’re up for a short drive.

4. Tysons Corner Center Announces the Return of Paws on the Plaza (tysonstoday.com) — Dog lovers in Tysons can head to PenFed Plaza this Saturday, June 6, for the return of Paws on the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center, featuring splash zones, foam parties, and adoptable pups.
