Firefighters Battle Large Potomac House Fire In Frigid Temps
The blaze broke out shortly after midnight in the 10100 block of Chapel Rd. in Potomac.

POTOMAC, MD — More than 60 firefighters braved bitter cold temperatures to battle a large house fire in Potomac early Friday morning.
The blaze broke out shortly after midnight in the 10100 block of Chapel Rd., said Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.
Fire officials do no believe anyone was inside the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Piringer estimated the fire damage between $500,000 and $1 million.

Four fires in Maryland and two in Northern Virginia broke out Thursday morning, killing one in Glen Burnie.
Piringer said the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Serves uses a Medical Ambulance Bus to provide firefighters and displaced residents relief from the bitter cold.
