Firefighters Put Out Blaze at Unfinished House

Fire early Wednesday delays rush-hour traffic on Persimmon Tree Road, according to fire department spokesman.

POTOMAC, MD — Montgomery County firefighters responded early Wednesday morning to a blaze at a home under construction, according to a fire department spokesman.

Pete Piringer, the spokesman, said on his Twitter account that firefighters arrived at about 5 a.m. at the two-story house under construction at 7041 Persimmon Tree Road in Potomac.

At 5:16 a.m., Piringer tweeted that the firefighters had brought the fire under control. The fire involved an electric meter, he said.

Motorists on Persimmon Tree Road (see map below) encountered delays early Wednesday as the Fire Department responded to the blaze, according to Piringer.
