Kayaker Rescued on the Potomac River Saturday
Four boats and a helicopter deployed to find kayaker, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Water rescue crews from Virginia and Maryland saved a kayaker on the Potomac River mid-day Saturday.
Crews were deployed after 11 a.m. on Saturday in the area near Great Falls, Va., according to Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Two swift water boats were deployed from Old Angler's Inn in Maryland. Virginia crews staging across the river at Sandy Landing deployed two more boats. A U.S. National Park Police helicopter assisted in the search.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the kayaker was located on Rocky Island. He was evaluated by first responders and transported to a Virginia hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
