Police Say Missing Potomac Teen Found Safe: UPDATE

Potomac's Mahkaylah Naomi Hammonds, last seen by family on Monday, Jan. 21, was found safe and unharmed.

POTOMAC, MD — In a Friday morning update, Montgomery County officials say Mahkaylah Naomi Hammonds has been located and is safe.


(Original post) POTOMAC, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a missing Potomac teenager.

Mahkaylah Naomi Hammonds, 15, of Pleasant Gate Lane, was last seen by family at her home on Monday, Jan. 21. A police spokeswoman told Patch that she last had contact with family via telephone on Monday, Jan. 28. Hammonds, however, did not tell them her location.

Investigators describe Hammonds as a 5-foot, 150-pound female with brown hair and blue eyes. She has multiple tattoos on her hands.

Family and law enforcement officials are concerned for Hammonds' wellbeing.
