POTOMAC, MD — Two swastikas were found drawn on a desk at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, according to a letter the principal sent to parents on Feb. 5.

In the letter, Principal Brandice C. Heckert said a student found the hate symbol Tuesday afternoon and reported the graffiti to school officials. She added that the school's resource officer and security began an investigation and the swastikas were removed by the building services team. In coordination with Montgomery County Police, school officials were able to identify the person responsible for the graffiti.

"This type of behavior will not be tolerated at Winston Churchill High School and the person found responsible received consequences aligned with the Student Code of Conduct," Heckert said.
