Rhythmic patterns, from bare tree trunks in autumn ponds to rolling dunes at dawn, give proof of order and calm in a world too often under stress. The symmetry of vineyards and orchards echoes the measured beat of urban shapes and colors. Repetition of formโ€“whether in architecture, animal clusters, mountain panoramas, or bands of raw earth in rural fieldsโ€“soothes and reminds us to slow down and savor the beauty. Pace tailors her presentation to suit each image. Some beg for the immediacy of glossy prints on aluminum without mattes, glass, or frames. Others are set in wide mattes to give a sense of peering surreptitiously into hidden worlds. A minimalist approach to some images intensifies their power by stripping away distractions. A lifelong photographer, Pace has expanded her involvement in the arts in recent years. Initially working exclusively with black and white images, she taught darkroom techniques and ran her own photography business. Having shifted to digital imaging in recent years, she now works primarily in color. She continues to hone her skills through travels, workshops, and professional associations.
