13-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder: Police

A 13-year-old is facing several charges, including attempted murder, in connection to a stabbing late Wednesday, police said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A teenager is facing several charges for a stabbing that took place Wednesday night in Rockville, according to police.

The Rockville City Police Department said a 13-year-old was taken into custody after officers responded to a stabbing that happened after 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Redland Boulevard.

At the scene, officers found an individual suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Police described the person as a juvenile. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The teenager in police custody is being charged with attempted murder and first- and second-degree assault, among other weapons-related offenses.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Police are searching for a second individual tied to the stabbing.
