ROCKVILLE, MD — A retired military veteran from Rockville who goes by the name "Money Lady" is $50,000 richer, after winning the top prize in the Show Me $50,000! scratch-off ticket from the Maryland Lottery.

The 66-year-old woman, who is legally blind, visited Lottery Headquarters on Aug. 3 to collect her prize. She told lottery officials that she purchased the winning ticket at the Giant grocery store located at 625 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. Although she's been playing lottery games since 1979, this was the first large prize that she won.

“I couldn’t believe that I won. I thought it was a joke at first,” she said.
