The payout figures come after the school district, considered the largest in Maryland, made hundreds of job cuts after adopting its $7.9 billion operating budget earlier this year.
The budget was approved in a 9-2 vote despite a $36 million shortfall that MCPS Superintendent Thomas Taylor warned would have far-reaching impacts on the school system.
