Four Montgomery County schools were vandalized with "politically-charged graffiti" including swastikas, officials said.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Authorities are investigating after antisemitic graffiti was found at four Montgomery County schools on Monday, according to district officials and a report citing police.
The graffiti was found at Wooten High School in Rockville, Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Fallsmead Elementary School in Rockville, and Strathmore Elementary School in Silver Spring, WTOP reported.
According to a social media post by Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Taylor, the schools were vandalized with "politically-charged graffiti" including swastikas, antisemitic messages and anti-LGBTQ+ language.

Taylor said the district was working with police to investigate the vandalism. He also said the district would provide "supportive resources" to address any "harm or anxiety" caused by the messages.
"We firmly denounce divisive actions that perpetuate hate, inequality, and injustice against any person, family, or community," Taylor said in the statement.

The vandalism came a week after a similar incident was reported at Bethesda Elementary School. According to police, someone painted antisemitic phrases in the school's parking lot and on a sign. Authorities deemed the vandalism a bias-related crime.
Vandals also targeted a nearby building in the 4900 block of Del Ray Avenue, police said.
