Bones Found In Rockville Are Man Dead For At Least A Year: Police
Montgomery County officials say the bones found a week ago in Rockville are those of a man who had been dead for at least a year.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities say the skeletal remains found a week ago in Rockville are those of a man who had been dead for at least a year. While investigators are still trying to identify the man, they know more about him, including his race, approximate age, and estimated height.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4, a man walking his dog discovered skeletal remains in Rockville. Montgomery County Police were called to the area near Shady Grove Road and Procera Drive to investigate around 5:15 p.m. that day.
The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Office in Baltimore for an autopsy, which may reveal the manner and cause of death.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the decedent was a Caucasian male, approximately five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight, and at least 60 years old, officials said. The medical examiner also said that the individual has been dead for at least a year.
While officials have a better sense of this man, they have not determined how he died. Police said the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the man. Police said the following personal items were spotted with the skeletal remains:
- A blue sweatshirt with the words QUEBECOR PRINTING (USA) CORP. printed on the front
- A green- or black-colored San Antonio Spurs cap
- Blue and white Asics GEL-Kayano runnings shoes, size 11
Police ask anyone with information about the person's identify or the undetermined death to call Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Those who call will remain anonymous.
