ROCKVILLE, MD — Those who lost the battle with drug addiction will be remembered at an event on Thursday, Aug. 29 in Rockville. The gathering will also celebrate the hope of those who have found the path to recovery.
This will be Montgomery County's fourth annual Overdose and Prevention Vigil and commemorates International Overdose Awareness Day. The global event aims to spread awareness about overdoses and squash the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths.
Montgomery County's vigil will be held at 7 p.m. in the Executive Office Building cafeteria (101 Monroe St. in Rockville). A substance abuse prevention and treatment resource fair will also be held at 5:30 p.m., according to officials.
