The annual Richard Montgomery High School (RMHS) One-Acts Festival is a student-produced, student-directed, student-acted, and student-crewed production of one-act plays. Founded back in 2008-2009 to raise money for the Drama Club Department, the RMHS One-Acts have been a staple of RM Drama ever since. One Acts creates a unique opportunity for students. It is entirely student run (with the exception of its wonderful sponsor, Mr. Eric Rodney). Two student producers and two student assistant producers select students to direct short one act plays.
For this year's fifth annual festival, the club was led by junior producers Isabel Dunn and Genevieve Wall and sophomore assistant producers Hannah Ferster and Allison Truland. Senior Eric Balcharan, senior William McNamara, and junior Aaron Hwang wrote their own plays (the first self-written plays in One-Acts history!). Senior Indy Weinstein directed a wonderful comedy by F. Scott Fitzergerald, the author of The Great Gatsby.
The One-Acts will be showing on one night: this Friday, February 8th. Join us for a fantastic series of student-directed one-act plays.
