Flood Warning Issued For Montgomery County
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in parts of Montgomery County, with more possible, the National Weather Service says: BREAKING

ROCKVILLE, MD — A flood warning is in effect for parts of Montgomery County until 4 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service says. An inch of rain has already fallen in east central Montgomery County as of 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, says the weather service, which has the warning in effect until 10:15 p.m.
Late this afternoon, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain were moving across the area. The rain will cause flooding, according to the Weather Service.
Locations that may experience flooding include Rockville, Olney, Aspen Hill, Potomac, North Bethesda, Fairland, White Oak, Redland, Colesville, Kemp Mill, North Kensington, Hillandale, Wheaton-Glenmont, Rossmoor, Wheaton, Calverton, Cloverly, Glenmont, Burtonsville and Four Corners.

The National Weather Service warns: "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property."
Forecasters predict scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 pm Tuesday. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
