Three employees were temporarily quarantined and roads were closed during the incident.
The Rockville Library was temporarily evacuated Monday after a “glitter grenade” was detonated in the faces of three employees in the Office of Human Rights located within the library.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer, the glitter was in a letter that was found by employees at about 12:30 p.m. Piringer said when the letter was opened it “detonated” in the faces of three employees.
HazMat crews quarantined employees in the office and evacuated most of the library.
