MCPS Schools Closed Early Due To Weather Conditions
All students were released from Montgomery County Public Schools 2.5 hours early Wednesday to avoid extreme weather and flash flooding.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — All Montgomery County Public School students were released from school 2.5 hours early Wednesday, Sept. 1 due to extreme weather, the district announced. The early dismissal was also for virtual academy students.
The district cited possibilities of flash flooding due to the rain from Hurricane Ida as a reason for the early closure.

Flooding has already appeared in Montgomery County, killing one resident early Wednesday morning in a Rockville apartment complex that was flooded. The County opened a reception center for people affected by flooding and released a list of areas that are prone to flooding.
Baltimore Public Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools and Howard County Public Schools also announced an early dismissal Wednesday morning.
