At the elementary level:
- You may notice that sections of your child's report card do now show a grade or show an "M" for a missing grade.
- Smith says an "M" will NOT have an impact "on your children's grade advancement, articulation, or other academic matters moving forward."

- In some cases, students may receive a grade of "Incomplete."
- That's to provide your children "with additional opportunities and assignments that may be needed to finish the marking period and earn a grade," Smith said.
- Schools will be working with families to help those students earn a passing grade.
- Questions about grades or assignments needed to resolve an "Incomplete" grade? Contact your child's teacher.
- That's to provide your children "with additional opportunities and assignments that may be needed to finish the marking period and earn a grade," Smith said.
For students receiving special education services:
- Refer to your child's Marking Period 3 Progress Reports for more information about meeting Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
- Smith says: "We will ensure that Marking Period 3 grades will not serve as an isolated data point with respect to IEP decisions."

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR SENIORS + GRADUATION SURVEY

COLLEGE BOARD AND IB UPDATES
Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be administered at home from Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 22. The exams will only focus on what most schools were able to complete by early March.
Smith says specific information about accommodations for AP World Languages and Cultures exams will be available this week.
International Baccalaureate (IB) exams will no longer be held.
"IB students will either be awarded the Diploma, Career-related Programme certificate or a course certificate that reflects their standard of work. The achievement will be based on the student's coursework and the established assessment expertise, rigor and quality control already built into the programmes," Smith wrote.
