MoCo Police ID Rockville Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash

A 20-year-old Rockville man was identified as the motorcyclist killed in a crash that occurred on Norbeck Road over the weekend.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Jacob James Hale, a 20-year-old Rockville man, was identified Tuesday as the motorcyclist killed in a fatal weekend crash.

Montgomery County Police said Hale had been driving a black 2007 Honda CBR600 in Rockville on Sunday alongside another individual who was operating a white and black 2006 Honda CBR600.

As the two motorcyclists traveled together on the westbound lanes of Norbeck Road, they made contact, lost control and both went off the roadway. It's unclear what prompted the two motorcyclists to make contact with one another.

Police were called to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way shortly after 1 a.m. The uninjured operator of the 2006 Honda remained at the scene.

Preliminary findings released by the department detail that Hale had hit a curb and a traffic sign support.
