New MoCo Parking Rates Take Effect July 1
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will be implementing new parking rates next month. See where you'll be affected.
ROCKVILLE, MD — New parking rates at county-operated garages, parking lots and street meters will take effect July 1.
The new rates, which were approved as part of the budget for fiscal year 2027, will see rates specifically increase for parking located in the Downtown Wheaton area.
Under the new pricing structure, hourly rates for the Wheaton Market Place garages will be at $1.75 as all parking lots jump to $2, increases of 75 cents and $1, respectively.

For on-street parking, the rate jumps from $1.25 to $2.50 per hour.
Offsetting the price increase, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation will make parking free after 6 p.m. during the week, and free on both Saturday and Sunday.

No changes are coming to the cost of monthly parking permits.
