New Sushi Hot Spot Comes To Montgomery County
Koi Sushi is officially open to diners at the Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg, offering customers a taste of contemporary Japanese dining.
ROCKVILLE, MD — For diners looking to expand their tastes, contemporary Japanese restaurant Koi Sushi is ready to serve.
The restaurant kicked off its soft opening Monday at 203 Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Rio Cinemas 18 entrance.
Koi Sushi is looking to deliver sushi dishes that are in step with traditional cooking techniques but still offer an innovative approach.

"At Koi Sushi, every dish is crafted with passion to bring the true flavors of Japan to your table," the eatery says on its website.

Diners will be treated to handcrafted cocktails that marry traditional Japanese flavors with modern-day mixology styles. Anticipate a little razzle-dazzle with your premium serving of sake or shochu.
From nigiri to sashimi, restaurant-goers will be treated to the tastes of tuna, yellowtail, eel, and wagyu. Speciality rolls are primed for the picking and include fillings such as spicy tuna, lobster, caviar, foie gras and, of course, avocado — plus, the Maryland Roll that includes blue crab meat.
Koi Sushi is also offering dishes of the ramen and donburi varieties. For bento fans, expect options served with a soup or salad.
Customers can visit the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. For Sunday, dine from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
