Pedestrian Hit By Fire Department Vehicle Has Died: Police
Police say a 36-year-old woman has died after being hit by a fire department vehicle in Rockville last week.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities say a 36-year-old woman from California has died after being struck by a Rockville Volunteer Fire Department vehicle on March 23.
According to Montgomery County Police, Diane Evans, 59, was driving eastbound on Beall Avenue in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado assigned to the department when she struck a man and a woman at about 9:30 p.m. In an interview with Patch, Montgomery County Fire Chief Scott Goldstein said that Evans was returning to the firehouse after running an errand.
Both victims were taken to hospital. On Friday, officials identified the female pedestrian who died in the collision as Jiayun Karen Liang of San Francisco. They say Liang died at the hospital on Thursday.
