Police Look For Link In Gun Store Burglaries In Rockville And Chantilly

Police are looking into whether a gun store burglary in Chantilly, Virginia is connected to a burglary in Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police officers are looking into whether a gun store burglary in Chantilly, Virginia is connected to the March 9 burglary at a Rockville gun store, according to Montgomery Community Media.

On March 13, three suspects stole 35 firearms from a gun store called 50 West Armory at 13930 Metrotech Drive, Fairfax County Police said.

Just a few days earlier on March 9, two unknown suspects stole around 24 handguns and seven long guns at the United Gun Shop on Randolph Road in Rockville.

“We are exploring the possibility that these burglaries are related,” Sgt. Rebecca Innocenti, a county police spokesman, said to Montgomery Community Media Thursday.

Fairfax police describe the suspects in the Chantilly burglary as:

Suspect 1: Black male, about 22-30 years old, standing 5-foot-9 to 6-feet. He weighs about 190-210 pounds, has dreadlocks and was wearing a dark blue jacket.

Suspect 2: Black male, about 18-22 years old, standing 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1. He weighs 165-185 pounds, was wearing a dark jacket with a silver stripe down the sleeves, jeans, black shoes and light colored gloves.

Suspect 3: Black male, about 18-22 years old, standing 5-foot-11 to 6-foot and approximately 150-170 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans, black shoes and light colored gloves.

In the Rockville robbery, the two suspects are completely covered in black clothing, gloves and hats. Investigators believe the suspects fled in a light colored, four-door sedan, as the car was seen on area video surveillance.
