Richard Montgomery standout chosen as 2019 Student Leader
Valerie Wang co-founded a school group which raises funds for local homeless shelters and Special Olympics events

In May, Richard Montgomery High School student Valerie Wang learned that she had been selected to the team of Bank of America Student Leaders® for 2019, one of just 225 high school students nationwide to be chosen for the honor.
Her reward is participation in a summer-long internship program, beginning with a national Student Leadership Summit to be held July 8-12 in Washington, D.C. The Summit includes daily leadership-oriented activities and events, including meetings with their representatives on Capitol Hill and helping the American Red Cross organize the preparation of care packages for active-duty U.S. military personnel.
Miss Wang was chosen as a Bank of America Student Leader due to her demonstrated leadership qualities, including as a co-founder of Difference Makers, a school-based organization which helps put on fundraisers for local homeless shelters and local Special Olympics events. In addition, Miss Wang is an accomplished Chinese folk dancer.
