Rockville Man Charged With Armed Robbery: Police

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville man has been arrested and charged after robbing a Bank of America on Thursday, Jan. 24, according to Montgomery County Police.

Jerail M. Netcliff, 28, of the 13100 block of Evanston St. was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, court records revealed.

Around 10:18 a.m. on Thursday, units responded to the Bank of America located at 17501 Redland Rd. for the report of a robbery. Police said Netcliff approached the bank's teller, flashed a handgun, and demanded cash. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators determined that Netcliff fled from the bank on foot. Surveillance footage from a nearby neighborhood showed him leaving the area in a white GMC U-Haul van branded with "distinctive graphics and wording," according to authorities. Officials later learned that Netcliff rented the U-Haul in Rockville approximately one hour before the bank robbery.

On Friday, Jan. 25, Netcliff was arrested in Bethesda. He was transported to the Central Processing Unit and is being held without bond.

Police said they also obtained a search warrant for his home and found "evidence from the bank robbery to include the clothing that Netcliff wore during the robbery and a replica handgun that investigators believe he used during the robbery."
