Rockville resident wins national titles at Summer North American Bridge Championships

Sylvia Shi of Rockville, Md., claimed victory in the Grand National Teams Flight A and 10K Swiss Mixed Teams events at the Summer North American Bridge Championships (NABCs), two of the 18 championship-level events held in Washington, D.C., from July 20 to 30.

This is the Shi’s fifth first-place NABC title. The Grand Nationals Team Flight A is pictured in Photo 1 (left to right): Sylvia Shi, Jian-Jian Wang of Clarksville, Md., Alexander Prairie of Arlington, Va., and Stephen Drodge of McLean, Va.

The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2016 Fall NABCs will be held in Orlando, Fla., from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4.
