1 Year After Teen Died Of Fentanyl Overdose, MoCo Police Still Searching For Supplier
Tips with information leading to the arrest of the person who supplied a Rockville teen with fentanyl may be eligible for a cash reward.
ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville teen died a year ago after overdosing on fentanyl, and police are asking for the public's help locating the person who supplied him with the drug.
Shortly after midnight on Feb. 28, 2025, Montgomery County police responded to the 2510 block of Baltimore Road in Rockville for the report of a drowning.
When officers arrived, they found 15-year-old Gabriel Ronald Mehta unconscious in the bathtub and immediately began life-saving efforts until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel arrived.

Mehta was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are still working to identify the person who supplied Mehta with fentanyl, or anyone he was in contact with on Feb. 27.
