School's out! Westwood Wednesday celebrates summer June 22

School's out! Let Westwood Wednesdays help you keep the kids busy.

There will be two special kid-friendly opportunities with Mighty Mole Gardens and Brit-Am Soccer Academy at the next Westwood Wednesdays event, at Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda, on June 22.

Mighty Mole Gardens is a D.C.-based business that sells grow-your-own veggie packets. Owner Erin Joshi will be leading kids in painting terra cotta pots and planting their very own organic lettuce seeds, while supplies last.

“My goal is to get families—and especially young children—into growing veggies at home,” said Joshi.

Brit-Am Soccer Academy runs camps and offers programs for young soccer players from 18 months old to seniors in high school. The academy will be at Westwood Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. offering skill drills for both younger and older players.

Make it a family affair and stay for dinner with SayCheese food truck which features anything from custom grilled cheeses to salads. And kick back and enjoy the acoustic rock and blues sounds of Ken Fischer.

Both kids’ activities are free; food truck fare is for sale.

Mark your calendars now for Westwood Wednesdays every second and fourth Wednesday through October in the upper lot by Rite Aid, 5400 Westbard Ave., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Picnic tables are in place to enjoy the food-truck fare but feel free to bring your own chairs to settle in for the live music and games, which include cornhole, ladder ball and ring toss.
