Second Trader Joe's May Be Coming to Rockville: Report

A spot in Travilah Square shopping center once owned by Walgreens could be the next Trader Joe's store in the region.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A developer is negotiating to build what would be the second Trader Joe’s market in Rockville, reports say.

The store would be located in the Travilah Square shopping center at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Travilah Road, reports The Washington Business Journal.

According to zoning documents filed with Montgomery County, Finmarc Management Inc. wants to build a 15,162-square-foot store on the site, which had been owned by Walgreens.

Plans call for a Burger King and an office building on the site to be torn down, the publication says.

The quirky grocery chain is known for its organic and gluten-free food offerings, its “Two Buck Chuck” wines, an endless variety of dips and hummus, and reheatable entrees are that are above the average quick far.

Other Trader Joe’s in the region are located at: 12268-H Rockville Pike in Rockville; 18270 Contour Road in Gaithersburg; and 6831 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda.
