Video: Suspects Caught By Surveillance

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -3rd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, June 4, 2023, in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

The investigation has revealed that at approximately 5 a.m., the victims were walking along Mayor Lane when they were approached by three unknown suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and struck one of the victims in the head. The suspects then demanded property from the victims. The victims complied with the suspects’ demands. All three suspects then ran towards the 900 block of Thayer Avenue with the victims’ property.

The suspects are described as three Black males, approximately 20 to 30-years-old, wearing dark clothing. One suspect had shoulder length hair that he wore in braids or twists. The other two suspects had short hair.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime, is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of these suspects. Callers may remain anonymous.
