Thousands of free Italian ice cups were served on the first day of spring at Rita's of Severna Park.
The warm weather on Tuesday found of Severna Park serving up a variety of the cold treat to about 300 more than last year, said owner Rob Marcus.
The Italian ice shop in the Severna Park Village Shopping Center was busy throughout the afternoon, peaking from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., said Marcus. In total, the store served about 3,465 Italian ices, rotating flavors throughout the day.
Marcus said there was no clear winner when it came to a favorite flavor.
