Laundry Service To Open New Location This Summer

ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD — A husband-and-wife team will be opening a new Tide Cleaners location in the county in just a few months.

The couple signed a lease to open a new base at the Park Plaza shopping center in Severna Park, at 550 Ritchie Highway.

Current timelines have Christy and Curt Schwab opening their location by this summer.

However, the Schwabs have plans for an even larger expansion.

Plans for the future, according to Curt, include the opening of seven additional Tide Cleaners locations in the county to balance operations at the service's Edgewater site.

“Christy and I were born and raised in Anne Arundel County, understand the business and retail
environment extremely well, and consider Park Plaza the heartbeat of Severna Park,” he
said.

“We have been loyal customers of the shopping center since we were kids and have always dreamed about opening a business in the center one day."

Curt says the franchise is the only laundry allowed to officially use Tide and Downey products.

Visitors at the site will be able to take advantage of the franchise's same-day turnaround and drive-thru pickup or drop-off options.

The county is currently home to two Tide Cleaners. One site is located in Edgewater and the other can be found in Annapolis.
