Deadline Approaching for Delta Sigma Theta's Jabberwock Debutante Program

The North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is gearing up for its first Jabberwock debutante program for local teens. The initiative exposes teenage girls from Anne Arundel County to the arts, college prep and scholarship opportunities.

Q. What is a Jabberwock

A. The Jabberwock is a seven-month college scholarship fundraiser program, started in 1925 in Boston as a community variety show to raise money for college scholarships. Its original idea came from the Jabberwocky character from the novel Alice in Wonderland. The Jabberwocky would call all from the kingdom once a year to entertain. Today Jabberwocks have grown into talent and debutante programs conducted across America as well as in Germany.
