Give Mom the Gift of SUP this Mother's Day

Give Mom a truly unique experience this Mother’s Day with a Stand Up Paddle (SUP) session on Cypress Creek. Everyone who SUP’s falls in love with it! Because anyone can do it. The sessions are led by instructor Carleen Birnes, who demonstrates paddling techniques and safety. Paddlers begin on their knees to get the feel of the board and the water, and within minutes, they are standing and feeling confident.

Paddling down the Chesapeake waterways is not only a great cardio exercise, it helps strengthen your core and your balance. Meanwhile, the sense of peace and tranquility of being on the water is pure heaven. Everyone who has come out can’t wait to do it again.

All paddles are approximately an hour and 15 minutes. The group launches from the boat ramp in Manhattan Beach on the Magothy River. From there, we paddle around the horn of the neighborhood into Cypress Creek, which is calm and has pretty views of Blue Herons and Osprey. We stop half way to perform restorative yoga style stretches on the boards and take a moment to reflect on life and all that we are thankful for.
