Green Hornets Bulldogs Win Middie Field Hockey Championship!

The Green Hornets' Bulldogs Middie (5th and 6th grade) Field Hockey team won the championship in their division this season with a 11-1-1 record.  The mixed range of talent, ranging from numerous first year players to experienced players, came together nicely as the Severna Park Bulldogs battled through the "Deflection" league competition one by one.  The coaching staff consisted of John Gremillion, Chris King, Gary Panebianco and Dave Hood.  Coach John stated "the group really came together quickly with aggressive play and cooperation.  Rather than one player carrying the team, we had alot of players being smart and in the right places."

The Bulldogs' solid offense, led by forwards Abby Monaco, Rachel Homig, Marissa DiNunzio, Sara Manley, Kaitlyn Panebianco and Alexis Strom spearheaded the team scoring effort of 33 goals over the season.  Fast breaks and relentless pressure on opposing team goals was the trademark of these players.

The Midfielders consisted of Lauren Aguilar, Jenna King, Camilla Donaghey, Emily Hood, Riley Sheridan, Ainsleigh Cook and Alexa Igler.  This was a fast, tough group that was relied on to consistently transition from offensive to defensive play and dominating the center of the field.

On the other end of the field, Elizabeth O'Neil, Jocelyn Gremillion, Morgan Doneski, and Callie Davis along with goalkeepers Sydney Cleary and Mia D'Antoni formed a rock solid defense that allowed only seven goals - averaging one-half goal per game for the season! Congratulations, Bulldogs!
