Local Family Helps Critically Ill Children

The Casey Cares Foundation provides uplifting programs with a special touch to hundreds of critically ill children and their families throughout the Maryland and DC areas. Each year, Casey Cares selects an outstanding company and individual for their commitment to the charity. Recognizing donors who have been instrumental in making their programs successful, the Casey Cares Foundation has named the Crivella family with the Champion of Children Award for 2013.

Residing in the Millersville area, Nick Crivella and his family has been involved with Casey Cares for the past 2 years by hosting a golf tournament. Through the tournaments, they have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to benefit Casey Cares programs. This donation has provided tickets to hundreds of Casey Cares kids and families to enjoy thecircus, Disney on Ice, group parties and even send them away on weekend vacations. Their next golf tournament is scheduled for September 14th at Musket Ridge Golf Club in Myersville, MD.

 "We believe there is no greater need than to help critically ill children and their families. " said Nick Crivella, "What better way to do so than enjoying the day with family and friends out on the golf course."

The Casey Cares Foundation is proud to announce that this year the charity has brought smiles to over 10,000 faces of children with life threatening diseases and their families through their programs. Families have been sent on weekend getaways, sent a birthday surprise, tickets to sporting events, the circus, theme parks, etc., given new pajamas to wear in the hospital during their treatments, invited to themed parties and other opportunities to help them look forward to the future and not dwell on their illnesses.

Programs are provided to families not just once a lifetime or once a year, but throughout their entire illness and even a year beyond.
