The Bay Green Foundation Partners with The Chesapeake Bay Trust for the “5K for the Bay”

Millersville, Maryland, June 11, 2013- The Bay Green Foundation, under the direction of Greg Fisk, has partnered with The Chesapeake Bay Trust for their 2nd annual “5K for the Bay.”  The goal of this 5K race is to raise awareness of the critical condition of the Bay, as well as raise money to assist in its protection.

The Bay Green Foundation’s specific goal through this 5K is to raise money (monetary goal set at $5,000) to support an oyster re-bed project in the Magothy River, which runs through Anne Arundel County.  Due to pollution, runoff, and other ecological issues, the condition of the Magothy River has been consistently declining over the past few years.  The Magothy River is a staple within the Anne Arundel Community, making its deplorable health a pressing issue.
