Benfield Nail & Day Spa Offers a Princess Getaway

Little princesses can get all the pampering they need at .

The Severna Park spa has recently opened The Princess Garden, which is completely devoted to manicures and pedicures for little girls. The princess corner features four mini pedicure chairs and tubs perfect for birthday parties or just for fun.

“I have been wanting to do this for five or six years now. I have been seeing a lot of little girls coming in to the salon and the seats weren’t catered to them,” said Channa Tsin, owner of Benfield Nail and Day Spa. “I wanted to do something very special for the little ones so when they come in they have something just for them.”

The Princess Garden is truly a getaway for little girls. The entryway is decorated with pink drapings and flowers and each girl gets their own pedicure station.

The setting is perfect for a birthday party. Tsin said the idea came to her when she was looking for birthday parties for her daughter, who is now 19.

“When my daughter was little we were always looking for birthday party ideas for her and it was hard because her birthday was in the winter,” Tsin said. “I think this is perfect for little girls who want to celebrate their birthdays.”

For $25.99 girls ages 3 to 8 get a pedicure and manicure complete with two designs on their toes and two designs on their on hands. Then they get a trip to the candy bar, which is a counter decked out with all kinds of candy.

“The girls just love the candy bar,” Tsin said. “It’s so fun.”

Each girl that participates in The Princess Garden also is entered into a drawing for an American Girl Doll and a winner for that is picked every six months. Tsin opened The Princess Garden a little over a month ago and said she has already had 102 girls for manicures and pedicures.

“My favorite part is seeing them come in with their grandmothers and their mothers,” Tsin said. “It is such a special day when they do come in. I knew it was going to be special, but I didn’t know it was going to be this special and meaningful.”

Girls who celebrate their birthdays also receive a tiara and a pre-packaged goodie bag complete with polish, buffers and toe separators. Tsin will also set up a table if partygoers want to bring cupcakes or snacks.

“Oh they just love it all,” Tsin said. “Some of the girls that came in and it wasn’t their birthday—they want to come on their birthdays. And the ones who are here for the birthdays want to come back next year. It’s been so fun.”
