Brightview Hosts Dementia Expert for Educational Seminar

The free seminar on Thursday November 19 at 6:00 pm is for families, caregivers and others interested in learning more about dementia.

Brightview Severna Park, at 469 Jumpers Hole Road in Severna Park, is hosting an educational seminar with Dr. Ann Morrison, PhD, RN, CLNC, an internationally recognized expert on dementia and caregiving, titled Reducing Stress for Families.

The free seminar for families and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and others interested in learning more will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 6:00pm.

Dr. Morrison will share valuable tips that families can use to effectively manage dementia-related stress for healthier, happier relationships.

A former John Hopkins School of Medicine faculty member and Director of its Alzheimer’s Treatment and Memory Center Caregiver Family Program, Dr. Morrison is an Associate Speaker with Jenerations Health Education, Inc., an organization committed to providing the highest quality health education about issues relevant to older adults and their quality of life including aging, caregiving, dementia and other issues facing older individuals and their families.

More than 5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, one of many forms of dementia. As the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, last year, 15.5 million caregivers provided an estimated 17.7 billion hours of unpaid care valued at more than $220 billion.
