Celebree Opens Welcome Center at Robinson Crossing

Parents and applicants interested in the new Learning Center in Severna Park are welcome to stop-in and meet the director.

Last week's weekly Patch photo feature brought in the correct guesses from a few readers and also a comment in our activity stream from Linda Zahn, CEO of the welcoming a new business in town—Celebree Learning Center.

The location in the picture, the former Curves in Robinson Crossing Shopping Center, is where the new Celebree will call home starting in early June. According to Mark Dailey, district director, Celebree is Maryland’s largest privately-owned child care provider. The Severna Park location will be their newest and 20th center serving ages six weeks to 12 years old.

In the meantime, starting Wednesday, a welcome center located in the former Quiznos location across the parking lot, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until construction is complete and the center opens sometime around second week of June, said Amy Holbrook, director of the center and a Severna Park resident.

"There isn't really anything else like Celebree in this area, our goal is to have these children ready for kindergarten—from birth until they enter school," said Holbrook, adding that the center works in conjunction with the Maryland Department of Aging and Education's Ready at 5 Partnership

The welcome center serves as the initial introduction to the center where parents can stop by to get copies of the curriculum, projects, learning activities, developmental notes and concepts to take home, said Holbrooke.

As for those looking for a job, now's your chance if you are age 18 and up with some experience in early childhood education or child development background. The fit would most likely be for a teacher's assistant helping out in the classrooms. Depending on experience, the starting pay is $8.25 and higher, said Holbrook who has already received applications from prospective employees who have a bachelors degree in education

With working parents in mind, appointments are also available. You can call Amy Holbrook at 443-845-1822 for more information.
