Crofton Couple’s Real Estate Success Leads to “Hall of Fame” Honor

The husband and wife team of Cindy and Tim Tutwiler was inducted into the Champion Hall of Fame

Severna Park, MD: The husband and wife team of Cindy and Tim Tutwiler was inducted into the Champion Hall of Fame for achieving $50 million in settled Champion real estate sales. With this honor, the Tutwilers join 62 previous recipients whose plaques and photos are prominently displayed in Champion’s administrative offices in Severna Park.

In 2004, Cindy joined Champion’s Crofton office after completing Champion’s training and obtaining her real estate license. Tim followed a year later. “We worked as partners really efficiently and enjoyed helping people achieve their dreams, whether buying their first home or relocating for retirement,” Tim said.

In 2013, when the couple’s children were 13 and 18, Cindy, then 47, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. “Imagine how I felt when I Googled her diagnosis and read she had an 80 percent chance of dying in the first year,” Tim said. “But she’s doing great more than four years later.”

Tim, known as “Tut,” took over Cindy’s responsibilities so she could focus on her health. “I love this job because I’m helping people transition to their next phase of life. I’ve lived in Crofton 22 years, so I get to promote my town and I become friends with my clients.” Tim has been Champion’s number one agent in the Crofton office (based on sales dollars) for two years running.

“We chose to work for Champion because it’s a local company, it’s trusted and it has a very strong presence in Anne Arundel County,” Tim said. “We found it’s a good fit for us.”

Being recognized in the Champion Hall of Fame is “truly an honor,” Tim said. “I’ve worked very hard, and since Cindy’s diagnosis, I’ve been flying solo. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished.”

“Tim and Cindy represent the very best you’d want on your side in a real estate transaction,” said Tom Hough, manager of Champion’s Crofton office. “As Cindy stepped back, Tim didn't miss a beat in following in her footsteps. He continued their stellar career based on dedication, integrity and the true desire to help others reach their goals.”

"Cindy was always a top performing agent in the Crofton market,” said Jon Coile, president and CEO of Champion Realty. “In the background, Tim helped her out, but that all changed with her health challenges. It’s been amazing to watch Tim become a superstar in his own right. The Tutwilers make a great team whether it’s battling cancer or selling real estate. We are very proud to induct them into the Champion Hall of Fame."
